Adding a few, short yoga exercises to your morning routine can help to get your circulation and digestive system going, stretch your stiff limbs and sharpen your mind. Our friends from YogaEasy have prepared a few easy yoga poses that will help you find your flow. We start with the combination cat-cow. The mini-flow gently wakes up your spine, stretches your whole back musculature and thereby engages all your body parts. Try it!
- Start on your hand and knees in a neutral spine position. Make sure your knees are set directly under your hips and wrists, elbows and shoulders are in line.
- Cow: As you inhale, lift your sitting bones and chest toward the ceiling, allowing your belly to sink towards the floor.
- Cat: As you exhale, round your spine toward the ceiling, making sure you keep your shoulders and knees in position. Release your head toward the floor, but don’t force your chin toward your chest.
- Now pair the two poses in the rhythm of you inhaling and exhaling.
